| Next Step Housing is a non-profit corporation formed to
combat the inappropriate placement or homelessness of adults with mental
illness in Durham County. The first major building project of Next Step Housing is
a twelve-unit apartment building located on the corner of Liberty and Raynor Streets in Durham,
North Carolina, just a block from Threshhold, a psychosocial club house
based on the Fountain House model.
We are a spin-off from NAMI-Durham, the advocacy organization that
started Threshold Clubhouse 15 years ago.
An important feature of the current apartment project is on-site support
services which will be available to residents.
Residential units built by Next Step Housing are to be affordable by
adults whose only income is government disability benefits.
Next Step Housing is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation incorporated in
the state of North Carolina. |
