History of Next Step

Next Step Housing was founded by Shirley Strobel, resident of Durham North Carolina, and well-known in North Carolina as an energetic advocate for persons with mental illness. Shirley knew how to get things done!

Among other accomplishments, Shirley Strobel was the author of the book, "A Circle of Caring", about how churches can best serve those suffering with mental illness.
